Daniel F. Collins is a senior communications consultant at Brodeur Partners with deep experience and expertise in corporate communications, journalism and marketing communications. He works with clients in the technology, higher education and business-to-business space with a specialty in media consulting and strategy, crisis communications and media training.

Dan recently joined Brodeur Partners after 20 years as division vice president, Corporate Communications at Corning Incorporated with the responsibility for all corporate communications functions. This included media relations, internal and executive communication, crisis communication, financial communications, mergers and acquisitions support, advertising, reputation management, special events, and corporate marketing.

In 2011, Collins was named a top marketer by Business to Business Magazine for the company’s innovative Corning® Gorilla® Glass marketing campaign and the viral success of “A Day Made of Glass” corporate video.

Collins came to Corning with extensive corporate communications and public relations experience. Previously, he was vice president of communications for the software group of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). Prior to his time at IBM, Collins was associate partner and director of worldwide communications for Andersen Consulting, now Accenture.  He also led communications programs at Bell & Howell Corporation and Perkins & Will.

Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from St. Bonaventure University. He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Board of Trustees for 17 years, leaving in September 2019. He served as vice chair of the board from June 2015 until September 2019. He was a member of the university’s national alumni board from 1994 to 2004 and as alumni board president from 1998 to 2002. He is a member of the advisory group for the Jandoli School of Communications at St. Bonaventure.

In 2003, Collins was selected as “alumnus of the year” for St. Bonaventure’s Jandoli School of Communications. In 2010, he was added to the school’s Wall of Distinguished Graduates. He is a former member of the Arthur W. Page Society, a professional organization of chief corporate public relations officers for major companies, the PR Seminar, and the Council on Communications Strategy. In the past he has been recognized by Irish Voice magazine as one of the top Irish-American Education 100 leaders.

In his leisure time, he operates Bona Venture Stables, LLC, a thoroughbred horse racing share-based partnership. In 2012, the stables’ two-year-old filly, Summer of Fun, finished third in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf World Championship.
