Brodeur to become AOR for Vectron International
Boston - October 10, 2006 - Brodeur beats out 10 other agencies (including short-listed finalists Porter Novelli and Weber Shandwick) to become AOR for NH-based Vectron International.
Vectron is a manufacturer of high precision frequency control products using advanced bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) technologies. The company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of $6B Dover Corporation and has factories in the US, Europe and Asia. Products include crystals, crystal oscillators, frequency translators, clock and data recovery products, SAW filters, and BAW sensors. These are used in Telecommunication systems, Military/Space navigation and communication systems, and other Electronic systems.
Vectron is fairly well known at the engineering level within the tier-1 Telecom sector, and to a lesser extent, with tier-2 and tier-3 world Telecom companies. Likewise, Vectron is fairly well known with Military/Space engineers in the U.S., but less so in other countries. Due to numerous acquisitions by Vectron in the past ten years, the company has broader offerings and product lines than many of its legacy customers realize. Additionally, Vectron is not known in most of the Sensor product markets it is targeting.
Brodeur will be working with Vectron to increase the company's global market impact by raising awareness and visibility among key stakeholders including customers, prospects and partners. Specifically, Brodeur will be building brand awareness in designated markets, applications and geographies and positioning Vectron executives as recognized industry experts.
Vectron began its search for a global PR agency by compiling a list of nearly 50 technology-based strategic communications agencies. That list was then narrowed down to 10 agencies with proven experience in not only technology but B2B and electronic components. These 10 companies were required to fill out an RFP from which 3 agencies were selected to present in-person to Vectron executives at the company's Hudson, NH headquarters. The 2 additional finalists besides Brodeur were WebberShandwick and Porter Novelli.
