My favorite work of fiction is:
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. This 30-year-old children’s book has transcended language, culture, and gender to become a talisman for millions of children. We should all hope to create such clear, powerful, emotionally relevant communication.
If I could choose a time and place in which to live, it would be:
A future in which we've surprised ourselves by actually solving some of the problems that appear intractable today (and by not creating any big new messes.)
When I was a kid,
I wanted to be an actress in musicals when I grew up.
The closest I came was:
I'm a serious amateur singer and perform staged and semi-staged performances with other serious amateurs.
People would be stunned if they knew:
I dropped out of high school. Despite being the proud owner of a pretty good college diploma, I have no sheepskin from high school.
Where I went to college:
Princeton University
